Ukraine's prosecutor general signed a notice of suspicion against NABU chief Semen Kryvonos, sparking pushback from anti-corruption bodies and calls from President Zelenskyy for his removal.

Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced he signed a notice of suspicion against Semen Kryvonos, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). Kravchenko accused Kryvonos of forging official documents for financial gain and orchestrating a sham adoption to avoid prosecution. Ukrainian media reported Kravchenko left the country shortly after making the statement, while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged parliament to quickly remove him from office.

In response, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) stated that Kryvonos was not officially served any notice of suspicion, calling the allegations a continuation of attacks against anti-corruption institutions. The clash follows recent NABU and SAP investigations into an alleged criminal group involving current and former lawmakers along with officials from the President's Office.
