The fourth Sarajevo Security Conference examined emerging drone threats while Bosnia and Herzegovina announced the expansion of its domestic defence manufacturing capacity.

The fourth Sarajevo Security Conference brought together over 140 speakers and 300 participants to address European security challenges. During the summit, EUROCONTROL Major General Karsten Stoye highlighted low-altitude uncrewed aerial vehicles as the most significant emerging threat to European airspace safety over the next five years. Concurrently, NATO Rear Admiral Van Zanten underscored the growing role of artificial intelligence and uncrewed surface vessels in reshaping modern naval warfare.

Alongside security discussions, officials from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced plans to open two new defense manufacturing plants, building on a period in which domestic military production doubled over three years. Bosnian defense capabilities and international equipment were showcased at the "First Balkan Shield 2026" trade fair in Sarajevo, featuring participating firms from Slovenia, China, Turkey, and Egypt.
