Berlin-Brandenburg authorities evacuated a BER airport terminal, remanded a passenger for assault, and conducted widespread raids against illegal arms trafficking.

Berlin and Brandenburg law enforcement handled several security incidents across the capital region, including an evacuation at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) prompted by reports of a potential hazardous substance inside a terminal.

In a separate airport incident, a 22-year-old traveler was remanded into pre-trial detention after assaulting a 48-year-old airline employee when two late-arriving passengers were turned away at the gate.

Concurrently, Berlin police and public prosecutors conducted extensive raids targeting an illegal arms trafficking ring. Members of the specialized unit "Ferrum" searched residential and commercial premises across the city, resulting in multiple arrests. Investigators seized a concealed handgun, a blank-firing pistol, live ammunition, digital evidence, and body armor retrieved from a vehicle. Four suspects face investigation as law enforcement continues probing the network.
