German prosecutors concluded an investigation into the 1970 Munich Jewish retirement home arson, citing evidence against a deceased neo-Nazi.

German authorities have concluded a reopened investigation into a 1970 fatal arson attack on a Munich Jewish retirement home, strengthening allegations against a deceased far-right extremist. The attack resulted in seven deaths and left 15 people injured, marking one of post-war Germany's most severe antisemitic incidents.

According to the Munich General Public Prosecutor's Office, recently analyzed evidence "strongly speaks to his guilt" regarding Bernd V., a neo-Nazi who died in 2020. Though investigators identified him early during initial inquiries, no formal judicial resolution or charges can occur due to the suspect's death. Officials noted that while court proceedings are legally impossible, the revised findings offer clarity on the historic crime.
