Kosovo officials reject Serbian rhetoric amid domestic governance warnings

Kosovo officials rejected territorial remarks from Serbia, while domestic researchers warned of paralysis across 24 state agencies.
Kosovo officials have pushed back against remarks by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who instructed newly commissioned military officers to defend Serbia's "sacred land." Kosovo chief negotiator Agron Bajrami argued that constructive dialogue cannot occur while Belgrade asserts territorial claims. Acting Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci urged calm, asserting that Kosovo's defense forces continue to enhance capabilities alongside international allies.
On the domestic front, the Kosovo Law Institute reported that an ongoing parliamentary deadlock threatens 24 state agencies with institutional paralysis. Additionally, economic strain increased across the country as diesel prices rose to 1.72 euros per liter, reaching their highest level since May.
