Former Slovenian national football team captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar have offered insights into their respective careers and the state of domestic football.

Čeh detailed his transition into coaching following his playing retirement, highlighting more than a decade spent as an assistant to manager Srečko Katanec, including seven years working in Asia. Despite his strong historical ties to Olimpija Ljubljana and Grazer AK, Čeh noted his professional respect for Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old forward Mlakar discussed returning to Maribor for a third spell in pursuit of his first PrvaLiga title. Mlakar dismissed past transfer rumors regarding rival club Olimpija Ljubljana, noting he was "never close" to signing with them, while warning that Olimpija remains a threat in upcoming derby fixtures regardless of recent struggles.
