Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar reflect on their football careers, coaching experiences, and regional rivalries ahead of Slovenia's Eternal Derby.

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh has discussed his post-playing career, highlighting over a decade serving as an assistant to manager Srečko Katanec, including seven years coaching in Asia. Čeh expressed affection for Olimpija Ljubljana and Grazer AK, while maintaining respect for rival club NK Maribor.

Simultaneously, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar reflected on his third spell returning to NK Maribor. The Ljubljana native clarified that he was never close to signing with his hometown team, Olimpija Ljubljana. Looking ahead to the Eternal Derby, Mlakar observed that while Olimpija currently faces challenging times, derby fixtures provide struggling teams an opportunity to restore momentum. He also voiced continued confidence in former Maribor leadership figures Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič.
