Slovenian football figures Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar have shared insights into their careers, club loyalty, and the upcoming Eternal Derby between Maribor and Olimpija.

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar have shared insights into their careers and the state of Slovenian domestic football.

Čeh, who recently concluded a seven-year coaching stint in Asia after serving over a decade as assistant manager to Srečko Katanec, reflected on his professional journey. Despite his longstanding affinity for Olimpija Ljubljana and Austrian side Grazer AK, Čeh emphasized his ongoing respect for rival club NK Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old striker Jan Mlakar has returned to NK Maribor for a third spell. Ahead of the Eternal Derby against his hometown club Olimpija Ljubljana, Mlakar remarked that derby matches remain unpredictable regardless of off-pitch difficulties or current form. He also expressed confidence in former Maribor leaders Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič as the team pursues domestic honors.
