Investigations are underway following a fatal high-speed train collision in central Spain and several severe road traffic accidents across Turkey.

Spanish and Turkish authorities are investigating several severe transport accidents reported across both countries.

In central Spain, a collision between two high-speed trains near Los Yebenes along the Madrid–Seville line resulted in 64 fatalities after two carriages derailed and rolled down a slope. Emergency crews operated at the crash site as safety regulators launched an inquiry.

Meanwhile, Turkish authorities responded to multiple fatal road collisions across several provinces. In Ankara's Polatlı district, a head-on crash between two passenger vehicles killed three people and injured four. In Isparta province, a midibus carrying seasonal agricultural workers rear-ended a freight truck, injuring 17 workers. A separate collision involving heavy goods vehicles caused one fatality and three injuries. Inquiries remain ongoing.
