Emergency services in Spain and Turkey are investigating several fatal transport accidents, including a high-speed train collision near Toledo that left 64 dead.

Investigations are underway following a series of fatal transport accidents in Spain and Turkey.

In central Spain, at least 64 people died after two high-speed trains collided near Los Yebenes in Toledo province. The crash occurred on the line connecting Madrid and Seville, causing two carriages to derail and slide down an embankment.

In Turkey, multiple road incidents resulted in casualties across several provinces. A head-on collision between two passenger vehicles in Ankara’s Polatlı district left three people dead and four injured. In Isparta province, a minibus carrying seasonal agricultural workers struck a freight truck from behind, injuring 17 passengers. Additionally, a separate rear-end collision involving heavy vehicles caused one fatality and three injuries.

Local authorities and emergency services responded to all locations, and official inquiries into the causes of the crashes remain ongoing.
