The EU extended sanctions against Russia as officials condemned a strike near the Polish border, while strikes continued in Kherson, Belgorod, and Sochi.
The European Union has renewed its sanctions against Russia while senior officials condemned a recent Russian military strike on a train near the Ukrainian border with Poland. EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated that the strike aimed to intimidate European nations and foster internal divisions.
On the ground, fighting persisted in multiple regions. Ukrainian local authorities reported two people killed and 14 injured following Russian strikes in the Kherson region. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone attacks injured seven individuals across Russia’s Belgorod region and the coastal city of Sochi.
In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky formally issued a decree dismissing the country’s prosecutor general from his post.
