German police shoot dead suspect following Berlin Pride vehicle attack

German police have shot dead suspect Abdul Balut in Berlin following a vehicle attack at the city's Pride parade that left one woman dead and 16 injured.
German authorities confirmed that suspect Abdul Balut was shot and killed by police in Berlin's Spandau district following a vehicular attack during the city's Pride parade in Tiergarten park. The incident left one woman dead and 16 people injured, several critically, forcing officials to immediately cancel surrounding festivities.
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt classified the ramming as an act of "Islamist terrorism," noting the suspect had a prior criminal record and existing ties to local extremist circles, as confirmed by police spokesperson Florian Nath. German media reported that law enforcement located Balut in a garden allotment before shooting him during the citywide search operation.
