German police launch manhunt after vehicle attack at Berlin Pride parade

One person was killed and 16 injured in a vehicle attack at Berlin's Pride parade as German police hunt an identified suspect linked to local Islamist circles.
German authorities have launched a manhunt following a vehicle attack at Berlin's annual Christopher Street Day parade that left one person dead and 16 others injured, several critically. A white car drove into a crowd in the city's Tiergarten park before striking a tree.
Police spokesperson Florian Nath stated that investigators identified the suspect, who remains at large and was previously known to law enforcement as a member of local Islamist circles. The incident forced authorities to halt celebrations and concerts, which had drawn hundreds of thousands of people to the German capital to demonstrate for LGBTQ rights and safety amid rising hate crimes globally.
