German security forces have killed 21-year-old suspect Abdul Balut in Berlin's Spandau district following a deadly vehicle attack at the city's Pride parade.
The incident occurred when a car crashed into pedestrians in Tiergarten park before hitting a tree, leaving one woman dead and 16 people injured. Authorities quickly halted the parade and surrounding festivities to launch a citywide manhunt.
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt declared the ramming an act of "Islamist terrorism," noting that the suspect possessed a prior criminal record. According to German media reports, officers located and killed Balut in a garden allotment area during the operation.
