Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has called for legal avenues to conduct elections in Ukraine, adding political pressure on President Zelensky amid heavy Russian strikes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky faces growing internal political friction as former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov publicly urged the nation to find legal mechanisms for holding elections during wartime, arguing that "democracy cannot be held hostage by Russia." Fedorov's call follows his dismissal last month after disputes with military leadership.

Concurrently, Ukrainian authorities have launched anti-corruption investigations into individuals associated with the presidency, while parliament prepares to vote on confirming Yevhenii Khmara as the new defense minister.

On the battlefield, Russian aerial attacks continued across Ukraine. A missile strike in Kharkiv left ten people dead, and drone strikes in Zaporizhzhia killed one person and wounded six others. Striking Kyiv, Odesa, and Chernihiv, the strikes prompted Zelensky to vow retaliation, while Ukrainian forces launched responsive drone strikes targeting Moscow.
