EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned of responses to hostile acts on EU soil as strikes hit Kyiv and Russian refineries.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared that the bloc will not tolerate hostile operations on member state territory, warning of potential retaliatory measures after authorities identified two suspects linked to Moscow over explosive drones in Leipzig.

The warning coincided with Russian drone strikes targeting Kyiv that injured a civilian, following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly. Simultaneously, Russia's defense ministry announced an intensified campaign aimed at Ukrainian energy infrastructure, while Ukrainian forces expanded retaliatory air strikes against Russian refineries and petroleum facilities.
