Wildfires in Southern Europe trigger sea evacuations while Typhoon Noul hits China

Severe weather events triggered mass evacuations as Italian wildfires forced sea rescues and Typhoon Noul displaced over 700,000 people in southern China.
Severe weather and natural disasters triggered mass evacuations across Europe and Asia on Sunday.
In Southern Europe, expanding wildfires caused fresh emergency evacuations. The Italian coast guard rescued over 400 tourists and beachgoers by sea from the municipality of Peschici in the Apulia region, where land routes were blocked by flames. This comes alongside ongoing blazes in southwestern France and central Spain, where hundreds of thousands of residents have been displaced.
Concurrently, Typhoon Noul, the strongest storm to hit China this year, forced the evacuation of more than 700,000 people in southern provinces, including Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Local authorities suspended over 1,000 flights and halted more than 190 high-speed rail lines.
