Uncontrolled wildfires have displaced over 160,000 people in France and Spain and triggered emergency responses in Scotland.
Uncontrolled wildfires across Western Europe have forced extensive evacuations and emergency declarations in France, Spain, and Scotland.
In France and Spain, more than 160,000 residents have been displaced since mid-week. French authorities ordered evacuations across seven municipalities near Bordeaux overnight, following an earlier complete evacuation of the Cap Ferret peninsula. Meanwhile, Spanish officials declared a state of emergency as severe blazes threatened communities surrounding Madrid and the nearby province of Avila.
Further north, Scottish firefighters are tackling a wildfire in Cairngorms National Park. Local authorities designated the blaze a "major incident" and urged nearby residents to evacuate the area. Firefighting crews across all affected regions continue working to contain the spread amid difficult conditions.
