Putin warns West over ship seizures as reports highlight North Korean military aid and growing FSB power

Vladimir Putin has threatened retaliation over ship seizures, while reports surface of North Korean missile deployments in Russia and expanded domestic authority for the FSB.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned Western nations of retaliatory steps following the seizure of Russian commercial vessels, describing the maritime detentions as "piracy" while addressing personnel on a naval vessel.
In a separate development, Ukrainian military intelligence representative Andrii Cherniak stated that a 90-strong North Korean missile contingent is establishing positions in Russia's western Voronezh region. The unit is reportedly preparing to manage six launchers equipped with roughly 120 ballistic missiles to target Ukrainian territory.
Meanwhile, investigative journalist Andrei Soldatov reported that the Federal Security Service (FSB) has achieved unprecedented domestic authority since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Soldatov noted that the Kremlin has grown increasingly reliant on the intelligence agency to manage wartime intelligence, enforce civilian control, and maintain internal regime stability.
