Search and rescue operations continue along the Nepal-Tibet border following catastrophic flash floods, with hundreds dead and over 1,500 missing.

Emergency personnel across the Himalayan border between Nepal and Tibet are continuing search operations following Wednesday's sudden flash floods caused by a glacial collapse. Nepali police confirmed that the national death toll has reached at least 469, while Chinese officials reported three fatalities in Tibet.

More than 1,500 people remain missing, including hundreds of foreign tourists from Britain, India, Australia, and the United States. Devastated infrastructure, including swept-away bridges, roads, and power facilities, has severely hindered rescue crews trying to reach isolated border communities such as Gyirong. Officials caution that secondary flooding and unstable terrain continue to pose severe risks to survivors and emergency teams.
