Rescuers in Nepal and Tibet face severe hazards while searching for over 1,500 missing people following catastrophic Himalayan border flash floods.

Search and rescue operations in Nepal and Tibet face ongoing delays and secondary flood risks as emergency crews work to locate more than 1,500 missing people. Nepali authorities confirmed the national death toll has risen to 469, while Chinese officials reported three fatalities in Tibet following Wednesday's catastrophic glacial collapse.

The wall of rock and mud swept away entire villages, bridges, roads, and power infrastructure, severing communications along the Himalayan border. Hundreds of foreign nationals—including citizens from the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Malaysia, Ukraine, and the United States—remain unaccounted for. Rescuers in remote areas such as Gyirong are navigating destroyed transport routes as search efforts persist.
