German police hunt suspect after fatal vehicle attack at Berlin Pride
German authorities continue a large-scale manhunt following a fatal vehicle attack at Berlin Pride that left one person dead and 16 injured.
German law enforcement agencies are continuing a massive manhunt following Saturday's fatal vehicle attack at Berlin's Christopher Street Day parade. A white transport van drove into a crowd near Tiergarten park shortly before 22:00 local time, killing one woman and injuring 16 others, several critically.
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that "everything we are seeing here indicates that we are dealing with an Islamist attack." Although investigators have identified a suspect, the driver fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
Local and federal police forces are coordinating extensive search operations across the capital while investigation efforts remain ongoing.
