One woman died and 16 people were injured after a vehicle struck attendees at Berlin's Pride festival, prompting a citywide manhunt.

German authorities are searching for a driver who rammed a vehicle into attendees at Berlin's Christopher Street Day Pride festival near Tiergarten park on Saturday evening.

The collision occurred around 22:00 local time, leaving one woman dead and 16 people injured, several critically. Following the incident, emergency services canceled the celebration as medical teams and law enforcement arrived.

The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. German investigators have identified a suspect allegedly linked to Islamist circles, though no arrests have been made. Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner condemned the violence, calling it "an attack on our free and open society." Special police units continue searching the capital.
