Nepalese authorities report 469 dead and over 1,500 missing following devastating Himalayan flash floods near the Tibet border.

Search and rescue operations are continuing along the Himalayan border between Nepal and Tibet following catastrophic flash floods caused by a mud and rock collapse. Nepalese officials confirmed that the domestic death toll has risen to 469, while Chinese authorities reported three fatalities in the Gyirong border area.

More than 1,500 people remain unaccounted for across the region, including over 800 foreign nationals from the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Malaysia, Ukraine, and the United States. Torrential floodwaters destroyed houses, bridges, and power infrastructure, severely disrupting regional transport networks. Rescue teams are navigating damaged terrain under the threat of secondary landslides and potential further flooding.
