Zelenskyy warns of imminent Russian missile attack as casualties rise in Zaporizhzhia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that intelligence from national services and foreign partners indicates Russian forces are preparing a massive missile strike on Ukraine within 48 hours. The warning coincided with a series of aerial bombardments across multiple Ukrainian regions.

In Zaporizhzhia, emergency services reported that the casualty toll from recent guided bomb attacks reached 30 people, including seven children. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Air Force officials confirmed interception of one of three ballistic missiles launched toward the Kyiv region from the north, alongside 81 strike drones. Air Force communications chief Yurii Ihnat stated that additional Onyx missiles launched against southern Ukraine failed to strike their targets. Separately, a drone impact damaged a high-rise residential building in Kharkiv's Saltivka district, shattering windows and injuring at least one resident.
