Zelensky links potential Ukrainian elections to 60-day ceasefire following strikes

Volodymyr Zelensky conditions potential Ukrainian elections on a 60-day full ceasefire, while citing Russian attacks on six energy facilities following US truce claims.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that presidential elections could take place if Russia agrees to a full 60-day ceasefire, emphasizing that choosing leadership remains a decision for the Ukrainian nation. The remarks follow calls from US President Donald Trump for Ukraine to conduct a leadership vote.
Meanwhile, military action continues despite Trump's announcement of an agreement regarding energy infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities reported Russian strikes targeting six energy sites, leaving 30 people injured and causing power outages in Izyum alongside damage to western rail and electrical networks. Speaking to Fox News, Zelensky noted Ukrainian forces did not retaliate, framing the bombardments as "Putin's answer to Trump."
