Zelensky links possible elections to 60-day ceasefire as Trump claims energy truce

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said elections could occur under a 60-day ceasefire, as US President Donald Trump claimed an energy truce was reached.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that presidential elections could be held in Ukraine if Russia agrees to a full 60-day ceasefire. The statement came in response to US President Donald Trump calling for Ukrainians to select a new leader. Zelensky stressed that selecting leadership remains a decision for the Ukrainian people, though he noted informing Trump's team that a two-month truce could enable voting.
Separately, Trump announced on social media that Russia and Ukraine agreed to an immediate ceasefire regarding energy infrastructure, warning both sides against breaking the deal. Trump has recently urged Ukraine to stop hitting Russian oil facilities, which Kyiv considers vital for limiting Moscow's war funding.
