Former chief of staff Keith Schembri testified further in the Yorgen Fenech trial, while a 74-year-old suspect appeared in court over a shooting in Ta' Giorni.

Proceedings continued in the trial of Yorgen Fenech over the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, with former chief of staff Keith Schembri returning to the witness stand. Testimony centered on allegations regarding defence lawyers and previous police operations surrounding the investigation.

In a separate legal matter, 74-year-old John Agius was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday morning following a shooting on Friday in Ta' Giorni. The incident left two police officers injured, with one remaining hospitalized in stable condition as formal charges were prepared.

Meanwhile, Malta's opposition Nationalist Party criticized the government over ongoing power cuts, arguing the electricity outages damage the nation's tourism industry. Environmental organization Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar also highlighted the need for climate-resilient building standards.
