Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expressed skepticism over an early end to the war in Ukraine during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Belgrade.

During his inaugural official visit to Belgrade, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to discuss European integration, security, and economic cooperation.

During a joint press conference, Vučić expressed skepticism regarding both rapid European Union accession for Western Balkan nations and an early end to the war in Ukraine. The Serbian leader stated that not all European partners favor expanding the bloc to include Ukraine or Western Balkan countries, adding that he does not expect a swift resolution to the conflict.

The meeting comes as Kyiv seeks to strengthen diplomatic ties across South-Eastern Europe. Analysts noted that Belgrade's engagement with Ukraine could complicate its relations with Moscow, which remains a primary energy provider for Serbia.
