US halts Iran strikes as diplomatic talks on Strait of Hormuz progress

US President Donald Trump paused air strikes against Iran to allow Omani mediators to negotiate an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
US President Donald Trump ordered a pause on military strikes against Iran to allow diplomatic negotiations mediated by Oman to proceed. The Omani delegation in Tehran is working toward an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which sources suggest could be finalized over the weekend. The decision follows 13 consecutive nights of American bombardment launched after Iranian attacks on commercial vessels.
Simultaneously, reports surfaced that Washington is evaluating a covert operation targeting Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles, a plan described by analysts as "too risky".
Meanwhile, Tehran accused Ukraine of targeting an Iranian merchant ship in the Caspian Sea, claiming the attack killed one sailor and demonstrated an "irrational and hostile approach" by Kyiv.
