Zelenskyy calls for active diplomacy following White House talks with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at the White House for talks lasting over an hour aimed at helping "activate the diplomatic process." Zelenskyy stated that while Washington, Kyiv, and European partners seek to end the conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to negotiate even a temporary ceasefire. The meeting followed a visit to Kyiv by political commentator Laura Loomer, whose revised stance on Ukraine was publicly acknowledged by Trump.

Simultaneously, US Central Command reported that Iranian forces launched several ballistic missiles toward American military bases in the Middle East, all of which were intercepted. Trump subsequently stated that while diplomatic negotiations with Tehran remain underway, failure to reach an agreement could lead the US to resume "very strong military action."
