Zelenskyy calls for diplomacy as US responds to Iranian missile attacks

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged intensified diplomacy to end the war in Ukraine, while US forces launched strikes in Iran following Iranian missile attacks on American bases.
During discussions at the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that while Kyiv, Washington, and European partners seek to end the war, Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to negotiate even a temporary ceasefire. Zelenskyy stressed the urgency of accelerating diplomatic efforts to reach a resolution.
Simultaneously, security tensions escalated in the Middle East as US Central Command reported intercepting several ballistic missiles launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps toward American bases. In response, the US military launched retaliatory strikes against targets in Iran. US President Donald Trump stated that while diplomatic discussions with Tehran continue, the timeframe remains short, warning that heavy military action could resume if negotiations fail.
