US considers covert operation on Iranian uranium as Tehran accuses Ukraine of Caspian Sea attack

Washington is reportedly evaluating an operation against Iran's uranium stockpiles following a pause in US air strikes, while Tehran accuses Ukraine of attacking a merchant ship in the Caspian Sea.
Reports indicate the US military is evaluating a covert operation to seize or destroy Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles, even as President Donald Trump instructed forces to pause air strikes to allow room for diplomacy. Analysts characterized the proposed mission as "too risky", while the Pentagon declined to comment.
The pause in bombardments followed 13 consecutive days of US strikes over commercial shipping disputes in the Strait of Hormuz. Neither Washington nor Tehran has formally confirmed a lasting ceasefire.
In a separate development, Iran's Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine of attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea on Saturday, killing one sailor and injuring another. Tehran condemned the strike as evidence of Kyiv's "irrational and hostile approach."
