Trump urges Zelensky and Putin to reach deal before winter

US President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an agreement to end the war before winter. Following discussions with both leaders, Trump expressed confidence that Moscow is seeking a resolution, stating that Putin "wants a deal" and adding that "if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Zelensky described his recent meeting with Trump as "positive and productive," noting that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of stopping Russian aggression before the cold season sets in. However, neither Kyiv nor Moscow has formally detailed the terms or a timeline for potential peace negotiations.
