Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach peace deal before winter

Following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated calls for Kyiv and Moscow to negotiate an end to the conflict before winter. Speaking after what Zelensky described as a "positive and productive" meeting, Trump expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin is seeking a resolution following a recent telephone exchange.

Trump emphasized that both sides need to commit to negotiations, stating, "I want him to make a deal with Putin, and Putin to make a deal with him." Ukrainian officials maintained that both Washington and Kyiv share the objective of stopping Russian aggression in the coming months.
