Trump calls on Ukraine and Russia to secure peace deal before winter

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have voiced a shared desire to end the war in Ukraine prior to winter following recent discussions.

Speaking after the bilateral meeting, Trump urged Zelensky to "make a deal with Putin, and Putin to make a deal with him." Trump also noted that a recent telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin convinced him that Moscow is seeking an agreement to end the conflict. Zelensky described the dialogue as "positive and productive," reaffirming that both Washington and Kyiv aim to stop Russian aggression within the coming months.
