Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to secure peace agreement before winter

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine before winter. Speaking after a meeting with Zelensky and a telephone conversation with Putin, Trump stated that he believes the Russian leader is seeking a diplomatic resolution.

"He wants a deal, and if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great," Trump remarked regarding his discussion with Putin.

Zelensky characterized his discussions with Trump as productive, noting that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of halting Russian aggression in the coming months. While leaders expressed optimism about potential negotiations, specific terms for a peace settlement remain undisclosed, and Moscow has not publicly confirmed any proposed conditions.
