Swedish police are investigating a fatal school sword attack in Fagersta, a deadly assault in Mariestad, and a three-fatality crash on the E20 highway.

Swedish authorities are investigating three separate fatal events reported across the country.

In Fagersta, police detained a suspect following a sword attack at Brinellskolan on Friday that left one person dead and two others critically injured. Local officials and law enforcement held a joint press conference regarding the incident.

In Mariestad, police opened a murder investigation after discovering a severely beaten, unconscious person in the Karlsholme area shortly before 4:00 a.m. Resuscitation efforts failed, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspects have been arrested.

Additionally, a traffic collision on the E20 highway north of Mariestad on Sunday evening resulted in three deaths. A car carrying four individuals drove onto the wrong side of the road in a construction zone, striking an oncoming truck. Two adults and one child died, while a young child was hospitalized. The truck driver sustained no injuries.
