The Sweden Democrats saw their parliamentary vote share decline to 17.5 percent, though party leader Jimmie Åkesson continues to demand cabinet seats.

Following Sweden's latest national election, the Sweden Democrats recorded their first drop in parliamentary support, falling from 20.5 percent in 2022 to 17.5 percent. Party representative Tobias Andersson described the decline as concerning, citing losses to the Moderate Party and among younger voters.

Despite the reduction in national voting share, party leader Jimmie Åkesson reaffirmed demands for ministerial posts in cabinet negotiations, stating that "there is no obvious winner in this election." On a municipal level, the party achieved a major victory in Färgelanda, securing 39 percent of votes after debates surrounding school closures. Separately, trial proceedings against former lawmaker Katja Nyberg were delayed.
