Spanish wildfires spread to Castellón as death toll rises in Valencia

Wildfires expand across Spain, forcing 15,000 evacuations in Castellón and causing a fatality in Valencia as Madrid and Ávila blazes persist.
Wildfires continue to spread across multiple regions in Spain, with new blazes breaking out in eastern provinces while emergency crews battle major fires in western Madrid and Ávila. In Castellón, an uncontrolled fire around Vall d'Uixò has forced the evacuation of approximately 15,000 people across 15 municipalities. Meanwhile, a separate blaze in Manises, Valencia, has resulted in one fatality.
In western Madrid, flames swept through the area surrounding the San Juan Reservoir, destroying local recreation sites. Emergency responders managed by the Military Emergency Unit remain focused on creating containment lines before major fronts merge. Regional officials warned that the fire in Castellón currently remains beyond active extinction capacity as firefighting operations expand across the country.
