Spain's wildfire death toll has risen to 14 following a fatality from the Almería blaze, as firefighters battle nationwide blazes affecting 77,000 hectares and 90,000 people.

The death toll from wildfires in Spain has reached 14 after a woman severely injured in the Los Gallardos fire in Almería died in a Seville hospital. Three others remain hospitalized from the blaze, which burned roughly 5,200 hectares before being contained.

Meanwhile, emergency crews continue to combat active blazes across Madrid, Ávila, Toledo, and Castellón. Nationwide, fires have scorched approximately 77,000 hectares, forcing nearly 90,000 residents into evacuation or confinement. Critical infrastructure, including regional communication networks, has suffered severe disruptions. In response to the crisis, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez visited affected areas and called for a binding national pact against climate change.
