British police have arrested a seventh suspect in connection with an alleged plot targeting the RAF Fairford airbase, while US bombers return home.

British counter-terrorism police are continuing their investigation into a suspected plot against the RAF Fairford airbase in Gloucestershire following the arrest of a seventh individual. The latest detention follows the earlier arrest of five British men in their early twenties from London, who were intercepted in three suspicious vehicles near the base and initially detained on suspicion of explosives and terrorism offences before being released on bail. A sixth person was previously detained in London.

Investigators are examining potential foreign state involvement in the planned attack. Meanwhile, the United States Air Force has redeployed strategic bombers stationed at the site back to their home bases in the United States as a security measure. Local authorities previously declared a major incident during the initial response.
