UK counter-terrorism police have bailed five suspects arrested near RAF Fairford while probing potential foreign state links to a suspected attack plot.

British counter-terrorism police have released five men on bail following an investigation into a suspected attack plot targeting RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. The suspects, all British nationals in their early twenties from London, were arrested early Sunday after armed officers intercepted three vehicles travelling towards the US-operated airbase.

Authorities confirmed that a quantity of petrol was recovered from the vehicles, though no explosive devices were discovered. The incident triggered a major security response, leading to the temporary evacuation of dozens of nearby households.

In response to the security concern, the US Air Force redeployed its bombers back to bases in the United States. Meanwhile, British investigators are examining potential foreign state involvement in the incident, with officials noting that releasing the suspects on bail was an operational move to support ongoing inquiries.
