Five British nationals bailed as UK probes foreign link to airbase plot

Five British nationals have been released on bail as counter-terrorism police investigate suspected foreign state involvement in a plot targeting RAF Fairford.
British counter-terrorism police are investigating potential foreign state involvement in a suspected attack plot targeting RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Five UK nationals in their early twenties were arrested early Sunday after police intercepted three suspicious vehicles travelling towards the US-operated airbase.
Armed officers initially detained the men under the Explosives Act before further arresting them on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act. Following searches and vehicle examinations by bomb disposal experts, police confirmed all five suspects have been released on bail. Authorities indicated that the alleged offences may have been conducted on behalf of a foreign state actor, with media reports highlighting potential links to Iran.
