Defense experts at the Sarajevo Security Conference cited drones as Europe's top airspace threat, as Bosnia announced two new military manufacturing plants.

Military leaders, diplomats, and defense experts gathered at the fourth Sarajevo Security Conference to address evolving European airspace and maritime challenges. Major General Karsten Stoye of EUROCONTROL named low-altitude uncrewed aerial vehicles as the primary airspace threat facing Europe over the next five years. Meanwhile, NATO Rear Admiral Van Zanten stressed the necessity of integrating artificial intelligence and uncrewed vessels into naval operations.

Concurrently, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina officials announced plans to construct two new manufacturing plants following the "First Balkan Shield 2026" defense exhibition, aiming to enhance export capacity and national security readiness.
