International experts addressed European security challenges at the Sarajevo Security Conference, while Bosnian officials revealed plans to expand the country's military industry.

The fourth Sarajevo Security Conference brought together more than 300 defense specialists, diplomats, and military leaders to address rising continental security threats. During the gathering, EUROCONTROL Major General Karsten Stoye cited low-altitude uncrewed aerial vehicles as the primary emerging risk to European airspace safety over the next five years. Additionally, NATO Rear Admiral Van Zanten emphasized the imperative of integrating uncrewed surface vessels and artificial intelligence into naval strategy, observing that "the future belongs to drones."

Concurrently, officials from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced plans to bolster local arms production following the First Balkan Shield 2026 defense exposition. Authorities reported that national defense output doubled over the preceding three years and confirmed the planned launch of two new manufacturing plants aimed at augmenting national security and driving international exports.
