Military leaders and security experts gathered in Sarajevo for the fourth Sarajevo Security Conference, while Bosnia announced plans to build two new defense plants.

The fourth Sarajevo Security Conference convened over 140 security experts, diplomats, and military commanders to address pressing European security threats. Key discussions centered on technological shifts in modern warfare, with EUROCONTROL Major General Karsten Stoye identifying low-altitude uncrewed aerial vehicles as the primary challenge to airspace management over the next five years. Additionally, NATO Rear Admiral Van Zanten highlighted the integration of artificial intelligence and uncrewed vessels to counter maritime threats such as shadow fleets.

Concurrently, authorities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced plans at the "First Balkan Shield 2026" defense fair to construct two new manufacturing plants to strengthen military capacity and expand exports.
