The Sarajevo Security Conference addressed airspace drone risks and naval warfare, while Bosnia and Herzegovina announced plans to open two new military factories.

The fourth Sarajevo Security Conference brought together over 140 security experts, diplomats, and military commanders to address evolving European defense challenges. Key panel discussions highlighted uncrewed systems and artificial intelligence, with EUROCONTROL Major General Karsten Stoye identifying low-altitude uncrewed aerial vehicles as the foremost challenge to European airspace security over the next five years. NATO Rear Admiral Van Zanten similarly stressed the strategic role of uncrewed vessels and artificial intelligence in modern maritime warfare and tracking shadow fleets.

Simultaneously, officials from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced plans during the "First Balkan Shield 2026" defense exhibition to establish two new military manufacturing facilities. Authorities noted that domestic defense output has doubled in the last three years to reinforce national security and broaden export opportunities.
