Russia’s Supreme Court has confirmed the exclusion of liberal party Yabloko from September's parliamentary elections, removing the only anti-war option from the ballot.

Russia’s Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by the liberal opposition party Yabloko, confirming its exclusion from the upcoming September parliamentary elections.

The legal challenge against Yabloko was initiated by the pro-Kremlin nationalist party Rodina, which alleged copyright violations, extremism, and Western backing. As the sole legally registered political movement campaigning for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, Yabloko's removal leaves voters without an official anti-war candidate on the State Duma ballot.

Following the verdict, security personnel detained multiple demonstrators gathered outside the Moscow courthouse. Party leadership stated that Yabloko will continue its legal challenge through supervisory judicial appeals.
