Russian strikes killed at least 17 people in Kyiv as Ukrainian drone attacks targeted sites across Russian territory, amid ongoing battles over air defense resources.

Russian aerial bombardments struck Kyiv and surrounding districts overnight, killing at least 17 people and wounding 44 others, Ukrainian officials reported. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated urgent requests for Western air defense interceptors, while Russian forces also launched glide bombs and drones at Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Dnipro.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian forces conducted cross-border drone operations targeting multiple locations, including Belgorod, Crimea, and the outskirts of Moscow, causing casualties and damage. Zelensky stated that Russian military commanders have established three protective air defense rings around Moscow and Saint Petersburg by withdrawing systems from front-line positions. Meanwhile, diplomatic discussions focused on long-term security guarantees and prospective defense manufacturing cooperation.
